Bunlardan biri olan anlat\u0131c\u0131 karakter, yaln\u0131z ya\u015fam\u0131n\u0131 terk edip halk\u0131n aras\u0131na dahil olmak i\u00e7in Girit adas\u0131nda bir linyit i\u015fletmesini sat\u0131n al\u0131yor ve yolculu\u011fu ba\u015fl\u0131yor. Girit adas\u0131na varmadan Alexis Zorba ad\u0131nda ya\u015fl\u0131 bir madenci ile tan\u0131\u015f\u0131yor ve ikisi birlikte madeni i\u015fletmek \u00fczere anla\u015f\u0131yorlar. Roman\u0131n geri kalan\u0131 bu iki karakter \u00fczerine in\u015fa edilmi\u015f durumdad\u0131r. Karakterlerin kendi aralar\u0131ndaki diyaloglar\u0131, ba\u015flar\u0131na gelen olaylara kar\u015f\u0131 verdikleri tepkiler, ge\u00e7mi\u015fleri ile y\u00fczle\u015fmeleri neredeyse roman\u0131n tamam\u0131n\u0131 kaps\u0131yor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Genellikle okudu\u011fum kitaplar\u0131n, izledi\u011fim filmlerin ve tiyatrolar\u0131n beni iki kar\u015f\u0131t g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn \u00e7at\u0131\u015fmas\u0131n\u0131n ortas\u0131nda b\u0131rakmas\u0131n\u0131 \u00e7ok severim. Bu \u00e7at\u0131\u015fmalar da g\u00fcnl\u00fck hayattaki \u00e7at\u0131\u015fmalar gibi olay\u0131n temposunda ve s\u0131cakl\u0131\u011f\u0131nda anla\u015f\u0131lmaz. Ancak geriye \u00e7ekilip uzaktan bakt\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131zda \u00e7at\u0131\u015fman\u0131n seyrinin nereye gitti\u011fini anlayabiliriz. Romanda kar\u015f\u0131la\u015ft\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnce farkl\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 iki karaktere de sirayet etmi\u015f durumda. Zorba hayat\u0131 anda d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcp o anki hisleriyle ya\u015fayan bir karakter. Duygular\u0131 onu nereye g\u00f6t\u00fcr\u00fcyorsa orada olmaktan ka\u00e7\u0131nmayan, hazz\u0131n ve hislerinin pe\u015finde ko\u015fan birisidir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ge\u00e7mi\u015finde madende \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131rken civardaki y\u00f6reden bir kad\u0131nla tan\u0131\u015f\u0131p i\u015fi b\u0131rakm\u0131\u015f ve t\u00fcm paras\u0131 bitene kadar o kad\u0131n\u0131n yan\u0131nda kalmas\u0131 buna bir \u00f6rnektir. Di\u011fer bir \u00f6rnek, \u00f6nceleri \u00e7\u00f6mlek\u00e7ilik i\u015finde \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131rken sadece \u00e7\u00f6mlek yapmas\u0131n\u0131 engelliyor diye o an kalk\u0131p parma\u011f\u0131n\u0131n bir k\u0131sm\u0131n\u0131 kesmesidir. Di\u011fer taraftan romanda anlat\u0131c\u0131 konumundaki maden sahibi, duygular\u0131n\u0131 ve tepkilerini dizginlemeye \u00e7al\u0131\u015fan, olaylar kar\u015f\u0131s\u0131nda ak\u0131lc\u0131 davranan, d\u00fcnyevi hazlar\u0131na bilerek ket vuran bir karakterdir. Yan\u0131ndan hi\u00e7 ay\u0131rmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 Buddha\u2019n\u0131n bir el kitab\u0131 ve Dante\u2019nin <em>\u0130lahi Komedya<\/em> kitab\u0131 onun karakterini anlamam\u0131za yard\u0131mc\u0131 olan ayr\u0131nt\u0131lard\u0131r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asl\u0131nda yazar\u0131n yaratt\u0131\u011f\u0131 bu iki kutuplu ya\u015fant\u0131y\u0131 ben kendi hayat\u0131mda da hissetmekteyim. Bir yandan duygular\u0131m\u0131n beni s\u00fcr\u00fckledi\u011fi y\u00f6nlere gitme tutkusu, di\u011fer yanda akl\u0131n g\u00f6sterdi\u011fi temkinli ve dingin limanda bekleyi\u015f\u2026 Herhalde b\u00f6yle hissetmekte yaln\u0131z de\u011filim; en az\u0131ndan Nietzsche okumalar\u0131mda yaln\u0131z olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131 g\u00f6r\u00fcyorum. \u00c7\u00fcnk\u00fc Nietzsche bu konuyu dert edinmi\u015f ve bu durumu daha anla\u015f\u0131l\u0131r hale getirmek i\u00e7in iki kavram ortaya sunmu\u015ftur. Bunlardan biri Apolloncu d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnme, yani davran\u0131\u015flar\u0131m\u0131zda ve fikirlerimizde her zaman akl\u0131 \u00f6ncelemek. Apolloncu d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncede duygular ve i\u00e7g\u00fcd\u00fclerle hareket etmek yoktur; sergileyece\u011fimiz her davran\u0131\u015f akl\u0131n ve mant\u0131\u011f\u0131n do\u011frultusunda olmal\u0131d\u0131r. Bunun aksine di\u011fer kavram olan Dionysos\u00e7uluk, duygular\u0131n ve hazz\u0131n bu d\u00fcnyadaki yeg\u00e2ne \u00f6nemli \u015feyler olup akl\u0131 ve mant\u0131\u011f\u0131 sadece onlara hizmet etmesi gereken birer ara\u00e7 olarak g\u00f6rm\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bu konuya kitaptan bir \u00f6rnek vermek gerekirse; Girit\u2019in bir kasabas\u0131nda ikamet eden bu iki arkada\u015f dul bir kad\u0131nla tan\u0131\u015f\u0131r. (Romanda kad\u0131n\u0131n ismi verilmedi\u011fi ve bu \u015fekilde tasnif edildi\u011fi i\u00e7in oldu\u011fu gibi aktar\u0131yorum.) Zorba, Dionysos\u00e7u bir d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnceyle kad\u0131n\u0131n \u00e7ok g\u00fczel oldu\u011fu, her erke\u011fin b\u00f6yle bir kad\u0131n\u0131 arzulad\u0131\u011f\u0131ndan bahseder ve maden sahibine kad\u0131na yak\u0131nla\u015fmas\u0131 i\u00e7in \u00f6\u011f\u00fctler verir. Ancak Apolloncu d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncede olan maden sahibi, kad\u0131n\u0131 her ne kadar arzulasa da bu davran\u0131\u015f\u0131n Girit\u2019te bulunma amac\u0131na uygun olmayaca\u011f\u0131n\u0131 s\u00f6yleyerek Zorba\u2019n\u0131n verdi\u011fi \u00f6\u011f\u00fctleri dinlemez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Roman\u0131 okurken acaba Apolloncu olan maden sahibi mi hakl\u0131 yoksa Dionysos\u00e7u Zorba m\u0131 hakl\u0131 diye d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnd\u00fcm. S\u0131k s\u0131k ikisi aras\u0131nda gidip geldim. Sonra kendi ya\u015fant\u0131m\u0131 d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnd\u00fcm. Acaba ben Apolloncu d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncede bir karakter miydim yoksa Dionysos\u00e7u mu? Yoksa her ikisini de ayn\u0131 anda ya\u015famak m\u00fcmk\u00fcn m\u00fc? Bu sorulara h\u00e2l\u00e2 yan\u0131t verebilmi\u015f de\u011filim.
